For a couple of days, I tried to avoid viewing this short film just on the simple fact that Kanye West and I need a break from each other. Granted, it's been over a month and he's virtually disappeared from the public's eye but even then, a break is still needed. Everything was cool until I watched We Were Once A Fairytale, West's short film directed by Spike Jonze. Now I'm just confused about everything in life and, more so, confused about Kanye West.
Are you trying to tell us something, Kanye? Is this a piece warning the youth about the dangers of fame and alcohol? Perhaps, it's a piece about all of our demons and just saying that we should kill them. Both might be true but, also, it could just be telling us that West might be going insane and really needs to take some time off.
Sometime within the last year, West and Jonze made this film. In knowing that, the Taylor Swift incident makes sense. Maybe he really wanted her to know about his song or that he wakes up on couches without his pants on. It had nothing to do with Beyonce. It also shows that booze is not his best friend and that only he can vomit confetti.
Thank you, Kayne West for this glimpse into the bizarre realms of your mind. I'm not sure what I really learned here other than Spike Jonze needs to update his already awesome edition of Director's Series. Hopefully, he'll add a commentary if, for nothing else, just explain what this short film is about.
...and now for the greatest film since Trapped In The Closet. By great, I mean really weird and confusing although this slightly makes more sense than Trapped In The Closet.
I think you'd appreciate that RIP Kayne West was the #1 trending topic on Twitter today.
