Cheyenne Marie Mize
Louisville, KY's Cheyenne Marie Mize has crafted one of the most beautiful debut albums in recent memory with Before Lately. The album is as simple as it is elegant and as charming as it is haunting. Supporting the album's beauty is her gifted instrumentation and performance and her delicate and sweet vocals. All of these things make for a compelling listen and addition to your collection.
It is also these same details that Mize brings to a vocal and banjo cover of the PJ Harvey classic, "Down by the Water." The cover was recorded for a Crash Avenue compilation entitled I Guess I'm Bloating which is a compilation/benefit album for Sub Pop's Andy Kotowicz, who passed away last month from a tragic auto accident. Check out a preview of her cover as well as the entire compilation here and all proceeds of the compilation will go to the Andy Kotowicz Family Foundation. It is a chance to purchase great music for a great cause.
