Just in time for the holiday season, Gorillaz and Klaxons have given the gift of new music. Last weekend, the two groups released two brand new and unreleased recordings online. Best of all, not is it new music for you, both recordings are free to check out.
Recorded on their recent North American tour, Gorillaz have released The Fall. The Fall is an album's worth of new material recorded on an iPad along with various instruments and features appearances from Plastic Beach collaborators Bobby Womack and The Clash's Mick Jones and Paul Simonon. As of now, the album is available for download to members of Gorillaz' fan club, Sub Division, but with an email address, you can still listen to it here.
After releasing the long-awaited sophomore album, Surfing the Void, Klaxons have now released the EP, Landmarks of Lunacy. The five-track EP is comprised of tracks recorded in 2008 and, according to Pitchfork, possibly scrapped while working on their sophomore album. Landmarks of Lunacy is a free download and available here.
