Pick Of The Week: Faith No More and Bone & Bell
These picks could not be any further apart from each other. One recently celebrated its 20th anniversary and is still one of the most brilliantly unusual albums released by a hard rock band on a major label while the other is a stellar sophomore EP that adds another layer of beauty and artistry to an artist on the rise. The picks of the week are Angel Dust by Faith No More and Organ Fantasies by Bone & Bell.

Another Rooftop Sessions Segment With Bone & Bell
Last year, Bone & Bell shot a segment for Rooftop Sessions in the Ferris wheel at Navy Pier. Another video from the segment recently surfaced for "O' the Death of the Caspian Sea" which is you can see after the jump. If you enjoy the song and performance, come out to The Ace Bar tonight where she is performing a set alongside Chasing Shade and Shiloh. The event is five dollars and is located at 1505 W Fullerton Ave. This one of three upcoming performances for her including a valentine's day set at Schubas. Also, if you have not done this already, pick up a copy of her excellent EP, Loom (especially if follow this blog or have heard me mention it frequently last year).

On A Ferris Wheel With Bone & Bell
Earlier this year, I came across a very talented artist named Bone & Bell whose debut EP, Loom, was (and still is) one of the most beautiful recordings I have heard all year. Currently, she has been working on songs for a followup and will be opening for Peter Bjorn & John at Schubas on August 28th. In between this, she found time to record a performance of "Sweet Queen Regina" for Rooftop Sessions. This performance, however, does not take place on a rooftop but in a Ferris wheel at Navy Pier which further adds to the coolness of this video. In summary, a baritone ukulele, a Ferris wheel and a very beautifully performed song makes for one incredible performance from one very talented artist whose EP you should already own.

Pick Of The Week: Bone & Bell's Loom
It is on the rarest occasions that I ever hear something on the radio that elicits a instant purchase the next available moment that I am near a computer. Even rarer than this would be the chances of me listening to NPR for more than two minutes. The pick of the week had me doing both of these actions within minutes of each other. Ladies and gentlemen, I present this week's pick, Loom by Bone & Bell
