Free Compilations From Amazon

Free music? Amazon? Free? Surely you jest. I do not and here's an awesome to spend your hard earned time instead of your cash as well as hear some new music.
Anti, Sub Pop, Saddle Creek and Barsuk worked in collaboration with Amazon.com to bring you new and free music from their current catalogs. These labels, along with a few others, are inviting you, the listener, to discover new artists. Perhaps, you're already a fan of the label and want to see what some of the artists you enjoy have been working on recently, then there's a free compilation for you too.

Why is it free, you may ask. The simple answer would be to say that it just is. The truth is that record sales aren't what they used to be. Newer artists and Indie artists do not receive the same amount of airplay as bigger artists on major labels nor do they receive the same amount of press. This isn't to say that there aren't exceptions but, for the most part, it's unlikely that you'll hear newer bands on the radio these days (again, depends on local radio stations and if there is a college station nearby). With that said, why not give the people something free and cool to listen to. The label gets to promote their artists and hopefully sell more records. There's nothing wrong with that. If you have some free time and want to hear some new music, check out some of these compilations.
